Dr. Shannon Bailey earned her Ph.D. in Human Factors and Cognitive Psychology and has over 10 years of experience designing and testing training simulations and educational games. This research resulted in novel training products that transitioned to medical and military customers.

Dr. Bailey's research examines effective instructional techniques using immersive technology (XR, AR, VR, MR), adaptive training, and natural user interfaces. This research was published in peer-reviewed journals such as Medical Education, Simulation in Healthcare, and Human Factors, as well as co-authored book chapters and award-winning conference proceedings papers on training effectiveness. Dr. Bailey received the 2016 RADM Lewis Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation, and Education award.
