Sarah Bassett, Professor of Practice and co-director of the Resilient Visions Co-Lab at ASU, specializes in disaster recovery. She uniquely incorporates her cancer survivorship experience into her work, emphasizing health, adaptation, and resilience in communities dealing with the chronic stresses and acute shocks of climate change, technological determinism, and rapid urbanization. Bassett’s work employs storytelling for policy advocacy using media and technology to create place-based change. Her work has been featured in The New York Times, archived in the MIT Co-Creation Docubase, and published with the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. She serves on the board for the American Planning Association Technology Division and is the co-founder of Peoples Culture.
